And I’ve delayed posting it here until we’ve had the chance to tell friends and family but come November me and Suze will be Mr and Mrs Liddon.
We’re getting married on the 12th November at Southsea’s Queens Hotel. We’ll be living in Southampton by then but given Suze’s Pompey origins we decided to have the service and reception here. It should be a great day and both of us are really looking forward to it.
Not a lot more to say than that really
Had a little trip out to Brighton over the weekend, just for a few hours on Saturday before Suze popped off to Chichester to see her friend Anabel but despite the brevity it was really nice to be back there
Lunch in Moshi Moshi was great. There’s very little in the way of good or interesting restaurants in Portsmouth so it was really nice to go out and find something really nice to eat. Only took a few pics and they weren’t that great:

E3 was great and we managed to take a significant step towards getting Neon on the PC out to the masses. One final hiccup with the as yet unamed distributor is now cleared which will hopefully now see Jeff and Giles’ excellent light synth on sale to the general public. The show was also good for Xen, we chatted to a few people about new work and also our current customer about extending our relationship beyond the end of the project. It means we’ve a few choices and the time needed to make the right one. Which is great.
And it was also ace to catch up with some friends though it did mean burning the candle at both ends. There wasn’t much candle left afterwards, just a charred waxy mess. Again, some pics to be found by clicking here and also here. Missed Suze a hell of a lot though, the iSight mitigated that slightly but we were both very pleased to see each other when I got back to the UK. We both took last Friday off to have a proper catch up.
And this week is super hectic. I’ve the initial versions of Korean & Japanese Moto GP XBOX 360 to deliver. Japanese is in and working, Korean should be done v soon. Various stuff including the mortgage to sort out with the house move and some mundane Llamasoft company admin stuff with our accountant that’s been dragging along too long. It’s all go
Bit of running around like a blue arsed fly over the last couple of days as I’ve been shuttling back and forth to the passport office in London. My 10 year one run out at the end of April and I’m due to be at E3 from next Tuesday. It should have been plain sailing to get my current one renewed in a day. Unfortunately due to a bit of slight peeling of the laminate on the photo page my old passport was deemed damaged. The bloke behind the counter looked at my like I was a terrorist and told me to come back on Thursday with extra ID and a letter explaining why I needed to go to the states for business. All sorted now so I’m a happy bunny.
Handy hint of the day: I’ve had to do some dev stuff on windows and having now become a bash ho in the last few years was first of all finding DOS command shell irritating. Switching to cygwin helped a lot but being a fussy sod I just don’t like the terminal under windows.
Luckily with a few arcane voodoo command line settings it’s possible to set up a ssh server on your windows box. Which I’ve now done and am feeling a lot more comfortable. Funny how it’s minor things in your environment being just so that have the biggest influence on your productivity
