Well it was nice to get out of the flat and enjoy a bit of space in the new house. We moved last Friday and that wonderful newfound lack of claustrophobia lasted for around 5 hours when two vans holding the combined “stuff” of a 6 bedroom house and 2 bedroom flat just about got squeezed into the new place. We’re 5 days in and at the point where 4 rooms are quite liveable, all boxes have been opened but there’s a lot of junk yet to find its final resting place.
Here’s a little movie from yesterday of the place in a mess and me a tad beardy
It’s a mess. It’s getting less messy. It’s going to take a while
Phew!
Long time since an update though I am limbering up for a bit of a blogageddon. Consuming most time recently have been work on the Llamasoft shop for Neon PC, moving house, sorting out Xen’s next gig and turning 40. January blessed me with an age I’m not all that happy with to be honest but to be fair the actual day was great. I got some fantastic presents and enjoyed an very nice time down the pub.
The house move all comes to a crunch tomorrow as we’re moving around 10:00am. We completed this afternoon and I popped over for a quick shufty taking a few pics with my cameraphone. We don’t have internet in yet but luckily one of the neighbours open wireless access point means we’ll be okay until NTL turn up on Monday. Wish us luck
Next week is shaping up to be a special as we’ve a table booked at The Fat Duck, Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant, he of TV chef fame. Very much looking forward to that and will need to suppress the urge to take lots of pictures during the meal in the effort to try and preserve each mouthful for posterity.
Forgot to mention this but we’ve now got the official wedding photos through from the excellent Tim. If you fancy a shufty the whole lot can be found right here.
We also have these on DVD at a super duper resolution where you can practically see the atoms. The are great if you want to get your own prints done. Drop me an email if you’d like copies
I’ve not been here for a little while but during the absent there’s some fun been had. Freshest in the mind is spending at excellent few days on the rather windy west coast of Ireland with a bunch of good friends. Great to see The K’s, Jima, Chris G, Rudsy and Debs, Jeff n Giles at the house of our excellent hosts Peter and April. We had an awesome time and everyone got on nicely, most of the time spent chatting and laughing in the excellently smoke free Irish pubs.
After 2 nights of exuberance we managed to do a 2 mile walk around Mullaghmore which despite the odd bit of hailing and semi-bitterly cold winds was really quite beautiful. Actually the weather almost makes it, the whole countryside oscillating between steely grey skies cut by silver lined cloud edges, blisteringly bright sun and the odd lucky charms style rainbow. Getting a bit drenched was made completely worthwhile about a mile in as we rounded the corner to be greeted with the almost fairy tale proportioned Classiebawn Castle climbing out of the mist and silhouetted against distant hills. Stunning.
The piccie above and the one below of me and Suze are by Jimaroid, his whole photo-set can be found here.
Suze and Peter’s other half April got on famously so right now we’re scoping out flights to visit them in Seattle during August which we’re both looking forward to
All in all a great NYE, fantastic company and though I’m not one for resolutions I do think we all need to spend a bit more time together even if work has scattered a lot of us to the four corners of the UK.
Cheers to everyone who made it and also to those that couldn’t. And apologies to the numerous midnight texters who sent some great NYE greetings. I can guarantee that each one was met with a warm glow, the only reason there were none in return was operator error; too blistered to work out how to mass text a bunch of people on my phone.
