Sitting here at the isle of wight Garlic Festival watching a really terrible band singing a terible song where the chorus is ” These are the best days of our life”
I don’t know much about bands and that but I suspect that when you start out on the road of wild rock and roll you’re not hoping that you’ll one day end up headlining a Garlic Festival.
Oh well Alvin Stardust is on at four

I’ve just been to the Damerham music festival. I don’t who the band was who was playing a “medley of popular hits”, but it sounded like someone tried to borrow the musical style from Nirvana, Limp Bizkit and the Clash - borrow the kit from a covers band whilst their backs were turned - and then bang out such choons such as Guns and Roses “Live and Let Die”, Hendrix with “Foxy Lady” and David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”.
We left before the Aerosmith Tribute. I know they’re not dead, but everything leaving the instruments was being mutilated such that it didn’t live long afterwards. I didn’t want to have that in my dreams.
Music was dying on stage and no-one was doing anything. It was the perfect murder…
A garlic festival… wow, people on the Isle of Wight sure know how to have a good time!
